The A1 Group is a family run business specialising in Scrap Metal, Car Spares, Loo Hire and Wet Waste and Staysure Tyres. We are looking for an experienced Van Mechanic to become part of our dedicated team based out of our Wokingham Depot.

The candidate will be available for adhoc weekend rota.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing Faults: Identify mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Repairing Parts: Replace or repair worn or faulty components such as brake pads, sensors, and wheel bearings.
  • Performing Maintenance: Conduct scheduled servicing, including oil changes, fluid level checks, tyre rotations, and more.
  • Testing: Carry out test drives to ensure all repairs meet quality standards.
  • Updating Records: Maintain accurate and detailed service and repair logs.
  • Fitting Accessories: Install and fit new vehicle accessories as required.
  • Database Management: Keep an organised inventory of spare parts and tools in the garage.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a vehicle mechanic, preferably with vans or commercial vehicles.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with using software and digital tools for fault detection.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong communication skills, especially when liaising with clients.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable individual with a passion for vehicles to join our commercial workshop team. Working on our own vehicles this is a fast-paced, dynamic working environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to £40,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability
