Equestrian Success for A1 Loo Hire & Wet Waste
Royal Windsor Horse Show
July has been a successful month for A1 Loo Hire & A1 Wet Waste at equestrian events across the south. We were fortunate to return to one of our favourite events The Royal Windsor Horse Show, situated in the ground of Windsor Castles. The Royal Windsor Horse Show was first staged in 1943 to help raise funds for the War effort. It has continued to run every year since and is now the only show in the UK to host international competitions in Show Jumping, Dressage, Driving and Endurance.
The beginning of the year was uncertain for the event, however Simon Brooks-Ward, Show Director was optimistic for the event “We are looking forward to running a near-as-normal show at Windsor in July,”. “Recent government announcements have given us the confidence to go full steam ahead with the organising of Royal Windsor, which includes planning for an audience.”
2021 was the first time A1 had taken on the event as a sole provider, in previous years we had worked alongside other companies to provide a range of facilities at the event. It was a big task, however we were certain we could make it a success! A1 Loo Hire provided plastic toilets, trailer units, showers and our waterless LooWatt eco-friendly toilets, whilst our Wet Waste division was in charge of all effluent waste collections. The partnership between our Loo Hire & Wet Waste divisions was instrumental in the successful running of the event.
Everything from the initial set up to the day to day running of the event went smoothly and we couldn't have been happier, we also received some incredible feedback from the event organisers themselves!
I wanted to write personally to say a huge thank you to you and your brilliant team for all your help, guidance and support to enable to deliver, in such a short space of time, a wonderful Royal Windsor Horse Show. When we started the planning, we honestly had no idea whether we could or could not run and had so many changes it must have made it almost impossible for your team – however as always they adapted and overcame the many hurdles that we presented, with a smile and a complete can do attitude and many people are saying that it was one of the best show’s that they have ever been to. Her Majesty said to one of our team, when out riding on Monday, that it was a very good show – praise doesn’t come higher than that.
Cowdray Polo Club, Gold Cup
Our second equestrian event of the season was the prestigious Gold Cup at Cowdray Polo Club in Midhurst. Regarded as one of the premier polo sporting occasions in the world, the Semi Finals and Final of the Gold Cup for the British Open Championships feature top level high goal matches in the beautiful setting of Cowdray Park against the backdrop of the Cowdray Ruins. Thirteen teams took part in the 2021 tournament which saw some of the top international players in action.
We were fortunate to have been introduced to the event through the purchase of our Porstmouth based depot (formally Convenient Hire Ltd). Convenient Hire had worked at the event in previous years but weren't large enough to cover the whole event, now teamed with the stock and staff of A1 Loo Hire we could take on the event as a whole. We also received great feedback from the event organisers at Cowdray.
Please can you thank your team for a wonderful job at Cowdray this week. They have been super supportive, reacted to problems and kept everything going smoothly. Our first Gold Cup in 17 years without one complaint about the toilets, a triumph.. Your operatives were friendly, helpful, and really worked as part of our team.
